USPS Address Verification API Example

Usps address verification api example is a free tool that helps you to validate addresses from the United States Postal Service (USPS). The United States Postal Service, or USPS, maintains a database of postal addresses in the US. This database includes the full ZIP code and city details for every address in the country.

The USPS Address Verification API is a simple tool to use. You simply enter the address and click Verify or Validate. The address will be checked against the USPS address database if it is a deliverable mailing address.

If the address is not found, then it will be standardized and updated to standardized formatting & abbreviations as recommended by the USPS. This will ensure your customers receive their mail correctly and efficiently!

Standardization is the process of correcting minor errors in the casing, abbreviations, and spelling of the input address. It also ensures that all the other data inserted is valid, such as the suite number, street name, and the correct ZIP code.

When the Address Validation API returns a complete address, it will return the formattedAddress property, which contains the corrected and validated address as a single string. It will also return a list of any missing or unconfirmed address components. If a component is not confirmed, then it will be marked UNCONFIRMED_AND_SUSPICIOUS.
